Managing your official matters can be a demanding task for a foreigner. Here is the steps to take according to the National Directorate-General for
Aliens Policing (OIF) official guide, which you can view here.

Contact the immigration office 

If you arrive as a citizen from a third country or if you plan to stay here for more than 90 days as an EU citizen, you must contact first the Immigration Office. The oif.gov.hu website of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing provides detailed information on foreigners, asylum procedures and related reporting obligations. 

Changing the address or place of residence

For changing the address or place of residence you have to visit the Government Window. Bring your residence permit issued by the Immigration Office, your passport, your address card and address registration form signed by the accomodation provider. Student card for foreign students

You have to apply for a “NEK” dataform at the Government Window and bring your student status certificate and your foreign documents.

Electronic administration 

You can register on the mo.hu website to gain access to a personal client portal and also to speed up the administration you can book an appointment on the mo.hu website.

Client Gate registration

You have to go to any Goverment Window for registration request and after you can manage your official matters online.
