            Registration proccess

To apply for equal opportunity services, the student must show several documents and take over the application process. The main steps are the following:

            Process for freshmen:

              1. It is necessary to have a medical examination of the disability from a doctor, a specialist, or an organisation from their home country.
              2. In case of disabilities, all of these documents must be given to the National Pedagogical Professional Service. Please remember that the organization has no English site, and if you need to pay a visit, a Mentor has to accompany you to translate.
              3. In case of mental illnesses, contact eselyegyenloseg@m365.bme.hu by sending all your documents proving your condition and explaining your situation.
              4. The National Pedagogical Professional Service sets up an official and accepted professional opinion based on medical documents in Hungary. Please be aware of the fact that this office only gives you this document if your conditions are very clearly stated in your medical documents.
              5. BME makes a declaration or recommendation based on that professional opinion. The lecturers need to treat the student as written in the declaration, however, they do not necessarily need to follow a recommendation.

            Process for non-freshmen:

              1. Medical examination in Hungary by a medical specialist (For this, you will need a TAJ card, you can find out more about it here)
              2. The National Pedagogical Professional Service sets up a professional opinion based on medical documents.
              3. BME makes a declaration or recommendation based on that professional opinion. The lecturers must treat the student as written in the declaration; however, they do not necessarily need to follow a recommendation.
